You are currently viewing CBC Swimmers Impress at the SA National Junior Championships

A CBC contingent of Zimbabwe swimmers took part in the SA Junior Champs in Durban.

Quinton Tayali, Denilson Cyprianos, Joash Mckonie, Cory Werrett and Tichatonga Makaya.
Denilson Cyprianos – Won 200m backstroke silver medal with national record (all time record). He broke Brendon Ashby’s record from 2003.

Cory Werret – came 4th for 200m breaststroke with a personal best time. Cory also got 2 times for junior all Africa during this tournament.

Tichatonga Makaya – made 100m butterfly final getting a personal best time which is a qualifier for junior all Africa games.

Joash Mckonie – had come 5th in the 100 butterfly but he got disqualified. It was a personal best time.

Quintin Tayali – made the 100 butterfly final. He had a personal best time which is a qualifier for FINA junior worlds. He needed 2 times but he has 1 for now.
